Get your giggle on!

blog!

If it’s your first day back to work today after the bank holiday weekend, you may be experiencing the post bank holiday blues! According to many psychologists the best way to make yourself feel a little brighter is to laugh. Either watch a funny YouTube clip right now or force yourself to laugh. By forcing yourself to laugh, you’ll set off a chemical reaction in your brain that will ensure your fake laughter turns into real laughter in the space of a few minutes.

Here is a funny YouTube health and safety related clip 🙂

Alternatively you could give MECsafe a call and to enquire about a course. Attending one of MECsafe’s courses will add value to you and your organisation, it will further your skills and develop your career. And certainly will get rid of those post bank holiday blues!

In other news, The CITB have serious concerns over Government funding cuts, please click here for the full article.

When one door closes…

Last night saw the closing ceremony of Rio 2016. As spectacular as it was, it didn’t quite top 2012 (or maybe we are slightly bias).
The ending, of course, saw the flag being passed from Rio to Tokyo.
Tokyo
Who knows, maybe 2020 will be the year GB top the table. But we aren’t taking anything away from this years well deserved second place (in the world!) – what a great result!
You can see the closing ceremony in pictures here (incase you missed anything).

As this years Olympics comes to a close, there is so much for the world to look forward to before the opening ceremony of Tokyo:

  • The United States presidential election of 2016
  • Paralympics
  • UK Construction week – please click here for further info.
  • The return of the X Factor (haha)!

(and that is just this leap year alone)!

IPAF introduce E-Learning Module for Operator

The familiar IPAF’s Mobile Elevating Work Platform (MEWP) Operator training programme will be taking a giant step forward with the introduction of  a new eLearning tool available from 1 February 2016 in the UK. After two years of research, testing and significant investment, the new learning materials are set to deliver flexibility and interactivity, with the same emphasis on practical training.

ipaf_training2

For the first time, trainees have an option of completing the theory module of the operator course via an interactive eLearning platform. They can complete the eLearning module online – anytime, anywhere, on most any device, at a pace to suit them.

Trainees opting to attend our training centre for the full instructor-led theory course will also benefit from the same state-of-the-art graphics, animations and learning techniques. They will continue to interact with an experienced instructor and fellow trainee operators in a classroom setting.

Whether trainees choose to complete the theory part via the eLearning module or the instructor-led course, all trainees must still pass a supervised theory assessment at one of our audited and approved training centres. Trainees will then proceed to the practical session and must pass a supervised practical assessment conducted by one of Kentec’s IPAF-certified instructor. Successful trainees will receive a Smart PAL Card (Powered Access Licence) and Certificate as proof of operator training.
