CDM REGULATIONS 2015 INDUSTRY GUIDANCE UPDATE
The Construction Industry Training Board has now published final versions of industry guidance on The Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM 2015)
Draft versions were made available shortly before CDM 2015 came into force on 6th April 2015. The published versions now come in printer friendly and web-interactive format.
The guidance includes useful information on the actions required of the new Principal Designer (PD) role and how the PD should coordinate and manage design risk management by others during the project Pre-Construction Phase.

HSE Targets London Basement Projects Following Fatalities
The HSE is launching a wave of safety checks on London Basement conversion projects from next week. The focal area’s of inspection will be Kensington, Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham following a number of fatal incidents over the the recent years.
CITB in Row over Changes to Levy Tactics
CITB have been accused off being sly with the new changes to the levy payments.
Around 16% Of Firms will see their levy bills increase in 2017. Contractors are already warning that will start from this April. There has been a lot of controversy surrounding this matter;
One construction boss spoke out saying: “The CITB is obviously sensitive about this issue and has been pretty sneaky in the way it has worded all this.”
